Center for Immigration Studies: Terrorist Friendly |
|
By Patrick Osio, Jr.
Steven Camarota, Director of Research at the Center for Immigration Studies, made this statement on the Lou Dobbs television anti-Mexico immigration crusade program – “If you are not for sealing the border, you are for illegal immigration.” Dramatic words for a person who attempts very hard to pass himself off as a “research director of a non partisan, tax-exempt educational organization.” The statement was directed at a Lou Dobbs guest who was under the mistaken belief that he was there to debate the issue of border security and illegal immigration. It turned out to be the discussion between Dobbs and Camarota on one border (US-Mexico) and Mexican illegal immigration with the added terrorists may cross from Mexico. But Dobbs would not allow the Canadian border to be part of the ‘debate.’ So I would suggest to both Mr. Dobbs and Mr. Camarota – If you are not for sealing the Canadian border, you are for terrorists. This statement has more merit than Camarota’s because he would like us to believe that terrorists will in fact cross into the US through Mexico, and not through Canada. He would like us to believe that terrorists are dumb and will not seek the site of least resistance to gain entry into the US. Canada has 4000 miles of border with the US to Mexico’s 2000. There are about 1000 Border Patrol officers guarding the Canadian border versus over 6000 the Mexican border. So Dobbs and Camarota as part of a long list of those who have the nation focus attention on the country’s southern border and only on the southern border are “terrorist friendly.” While everyone is facing south, the enemy will come in from the north, yet again. Americans of good will need to understand that Dobbs, Camarota and others have been picking on Mexican illegal immigrants since before 9/11. Pre 9/11 Mexicans border crossers were blamed for wreaking the US economy, the more racist added Mexicans were the raping our women, molesting our children, welfare leaches, and whatever other criminal accusations they could pronounce. Post 9/11 simply added “terrorists criminals” to the litany of accusations. Now there is also added, terrorists will cross into Mexico from the US. These accusers of course deny they’re anti-Mexican, after all they love America, and are simply patriots speaking out to protect the US. So how can people like this writer accuse them of being anti-Mexican, while ignoring they’re pro-America? For a clue we need to look at other remarks made by Mark Krikorian, the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), a fellow executive of Steven Camarota’s. Krikorian said at a recent conference of the Christian Coalition of Georgia on immigration, “We round up all illegal aliens [put] them into boxcars and send them all back to Mexico in the middle of the night…” Let’s analyze the statement. There are between 10 to 12 million illegal immigrants in the US. Between 5 and 6 million are Mexican. Krikorian said ‘round up all illegal immigrants’ presumably this includes those not from Mexico, but then he says “put them into boxcars and send them all back to Mexico.” Setting aside the gross idea he uttered, he uses ‘all’ making no distinction between the nearly half of the total not being Mexican. So he is either perfectly willing to accept illegal immigrants as long as they are not from Mexico or he wants us to believe there are only illegal immigrants from Mexico. But of course, this cannot be the case since CIS passes itself of as a tax exempt charitable organization “dealing with immigration issues from a scholarly or expert perspective.” For such ‘scholarly experts’ to so casually note – “round up all illegal aliens” without considering the magnitude of the task or even how to distinguish who is an illegal from those who are legal, exposes CIS as nothing more than a racist organization with no scholarly value or expertise that is willing to ship all brown faces just to make sure we got them ‘all’. So blinded by their racist roots, CIS as represented by Steve Camarota and Mark Krikorian don’t deserve to sit at any table discussing real solutions to two very real issues faced by the US – illegal immigration, and terrorist infiltration – two very different issues truly in need of qualified ‘scholarly expertise.’ And Lou Dobbs doesn’t qualify as anything more than an entertainer seeking higher audience ratings, albeit at the expense of being ‘terrorist friendly.’ ___________________________________________ Patrick Osio, Jr. is Editor of HispanicVista.com (www.hispanicvista.com) Contact at: POsioJr@hispanicvista.com
