Whatever one thinks of history, one must constantly
know that history repeats itself more often than not.
This writer found himself watching and listening on C-Span an elderly
Richard Sonnenfeldt talk about his book "Witness to Nuremberg" in which he
examines his role as a 22-year old translator at the Nuremberg War Crimes
Trials. His German was perfect, his having been born and raised in Germany.
His loyalty to his new country, America, caused him to awaken every day at
6:00 a.m. to function daily under the highest pressure in the quest for
justice. His Jewishness was in his heart.
Sonnenfeldt interviewed hundreds upon hundreds of German Army and Nazi Party
officers and members and visited the Dachau Extermination Camp, as well as
other camps to desensitize himself from the horrors perpetrated by ordinary
Germans hypnotized by Adolph Hitler.
His single most important view of all those Germans he interviewed and of
those who were tried and convicted is that they were "mediocre" "ordinary"
men. The relevance of that view from a man who touched the greatest evil of
the 20th Century is very important to all in the United States of America
today. Why?
Because those are words I have been searching for, for two decades in my
battle with those among us who hate Mexicans like Germans hated Jews. Those
are the words I need to describe those among us who lie, exaggerate,
obfuscate and harangue using the language of hate to attack millions of
hardworking people who simply want work.
News: San Diego Police execute a search warrant on the house of a woman who
has been the official spokesperson for the local Minutemen chapter with an
eye towards charging her with serious felonies after a transient farm worker
camp was totally vandalized.
News: Former California Illegal alien warrior, Glenn Spencer, is convicted
in Arizona of felonies relating to shooting imaginary illegal aliens. After
being observed for years by police agencies in Los Angeles, Spencer moved to
Arizona to continue his fight against what he called " a cancer in America"
– that is, Mexicans.
News: Irv Rubin, leader of the Los Angeles Jewish Defense League and close
associate of Glenn Spencer, is charged with terrorism after trying to blow
up Congressman Darrell Issa’s office (Issa is half Lebanese and a
Christian). Rubin died mysteriously in prison after a fall.
News: After falling all over itself to cover Minutemen rallies on the Border
that never numbered more than a few dozen, the media has tired of looking
for Minutemen on the border today because there aren’t any.
News: Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo prepares to run for President as a
"veteran" of the Vietnam War Era who claimed mental illness to avoid service
in the military peeling potatoes.
News: Cuban-born Harvard economist George Borjas is exalted by Mexican
haters because his theories of immigration exclude most Mexican immigrants
and defile those already here. His theories would have prevented his coming
to America as a child refugee, but no matter, his supporters wave his
studies around as if they were Gospel. Unfortunately for him, few of his
peers exalt him and counter his studies with those of a real economist who
is exalted by his peers, The University of California’s David Card.
News: Rush Limbaugh talk show substitute, former San Diego Mayor Roger
Hedgecock has carried the story of two convicted rogue Border Patrol Agents
to Limbaugh’s audience with emotion and panache about the injustice of
sending these "heroes" to prison for shooting a "known drug smuggler."
Hedgecock neglects to tell Limbaugh’s huge audience that he knows all about
being convicted, then pleading guilty, then paying huge fines to the state
for lying on campaign statements while he laments two criminals going to
prison, something Hedgecock barely escaped.
Hedgecock was convicted of 13 felony counts of lying (perjury) and dismissed
from office by law due to his felony convictions. Then, when the State
Supreme Court set aside his convictions (It did not overturn), he plead
guilty to avoid another trial. Hedgecock is the leading Mexican hater in the
original California city, San Diego with its hundreds of thousands of
Mexicans and Mexican Americans.
Despite diverse geography, educational levels and seemingly innocent
activities as well as some criminal actions and crimes, one particular trait
is jumps at one from these people and those like them; they are "mediocre"
"ordinary" people.
Like the war criminals Sonnefeldt witnessed, these "mediocre" "ordinary"
people are participating in the emotional anti-illegal "wave" just as
millions joined up with the Ku Klux Klan a hundred years ago. They even have
a "guru," a Hitler-like Svengali who pulls their strings. His name: John
Tanton, founder of the Federation of Americans for Immigration Reform
(FAIR), the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), NumbersUSA, the Social
Quarterly, English-only fronts and he comes from the Zero population Growth
Movement and supports the forced abortion movement in China.
Tanton’s ideological roots are directly traceable to reading racist European
tracts written by those Germans who wiped out millions of fellow Europeans
by poison gas, firing squads and incineration. His followers and puppets
also very closely resemble those Sonnenfeldt found to be "mediocre" and
"ordinary."
