An open letter to T. Willard Fair, a paid activist. In response to a speech found here: http://judiciary.house.gov/media/pdfs/Fair070509.pdf

Willard,

Today’s America is not all about Blacks or Latinos but about everyone in general, regardless of creed and nationality, which is called: Democracy. As the chairman of the Board of Education you should not focus only on the black, for you are doing a disservice to the office you represent and the community you are being paid to serve, by favoring a specific group.

Hispanic fathers also deserve to be bread winners; maybe you should read the bible instead of gathering and defining your ideas from any other books. As a member of the minority you are currently undermining, I feel offended by your biased and stereotypical statements. Not all immigrants come to this country to pick lettuce; for as many skilled professionals are working in America today.

If you say that black men are more likely to be unemployed, school drop outs and criminals than white people, you should not blame it on the Latinos. You also blame it on the glorification of self-destructive behavior by popular culture and many other factors, including slavery. Why do you insist on raising a false sense of responsibility?

Wake up and smell the homeless, “Mr. Fair”, and stop using the sweat of our forehead as an excuse for your lack of leadership and adequacy to govern “your” youth, aside from being unfair and false, is totally naive and unfounded. It’s time to take some responsibility and pick up a more realistic Bandera.

Whether you like it or not, Hispanics have been in this great country before the "white" man (as you label the new comers) arrived and just like blacks are here to stay. We have helped to sustain the American economy and the growth of this country, historically we have done more than pick lettuce and maintain lawns, but have fought side by side, together in all wars, and please look all around you, before you reach the end of your days in complete disgrace, going down in history as the a racist and bigot who opposed freedom and relentlessly fought for a new type of segregation.

The days of segregation did end a long time ago, and the days of slavery much long before that, however you display and manifest an attitude of being a servant, not to the office you were paid to represent, but to the interests of a larger political  lobby.

Your rationale and your motives are wrong, even when you boast you will donate a surplus to the United Way. Your perception of unity is distorted and far off from being realistic. I believe you are trying to express your gratitude to the Republican Party for showering you with attention and riches, but you’re channeling your efforts at the expense of destroying the hopes and dreams of many human beings, whose only ‘sin’ and ‘crime’ was to try to become better providers for their families that includes women and children, si senor.

The budget for Education, since you mentioned, has been tightened due to the war in Iraq, and has nothing to do with immigration, people are not dropping out of school because they see an immigrant walking down the street, that's delusional and far from the truth, it is more of a xenophobic display.

You said in your speech: “The interests of black Americans are clear”… in the process what are clear are your own interests, for all the kickbacks, the favors, the donations, and the extra monies you're receiving while conducting your anti-social campaign. Perhaps the governors of the state of Florida should better pick their appointees when deciding who will serve office, and make sure they don’t pick some one who is culturally biased or will dedicate much of it’s time to scratching other people’s back.
