LETTERS ON WHAT IS LULAC

Carlos
You had NO RIGHT to send out a letter to Ron Crates or anyone else regarding a local issue with the school district. We previously had asked you personally for a procedure regarding school boards  and you responded.  Our council made a sound decision that we would address the issue ourselves as we have always done in the past and therefore we had no reason to send you any documentation.
At no time did we request you take our issue to the LULAC Education commission, a commission whose members we do not know and your title of chairperson not recognized by the state board.
You mention that you would not do anything behind anyone's back and you did exactly that.  You sent a letter on September 8th  to Crates indicating your findings and never contacted us in doing so nor did you send us a copy of your letter.  That alone says alot about your commission which we want no part of.
Thanks but no thanks.
Please do not email any responses, we are not interested in your remarks or conclusions.

He sounds like a left over from the John Birch Society of he 1960's. Or he could be a paid member of the Minuteman, whom is out for revenge or on a distruct mode. Nevertheless, he does not belong in LULAC, not now, not ever for he seems to be in a distructive mode, out to destroy LULAc.
Sorry to see a person such a person, but LULAC must dissassociate from such a person, whether by by impeachment or other legal action.

Past State Director

Dear Editor and Members of our Beloved League:

Mr. L'Dera IS NOT the Education Commission Chairperson.  He was appointed to the position for a short period only - From the end of May 2005 through the beginning of August 2005.  Because he took it upon himself to write articles such as this and send out threatening impeachment letters against our state and national officers, our State Director, Angel Luevano removed him from this position and he was ordered to cease and desist.  Mr. L'Dera has refused; therefore, we are currently seeking legal action against him.

As of August 20, 2005, I am the Chairperson of the Education Commission and Mr. Nestor Hernandez, District 18 Director, is the Co-Chairperson.  We are in the process of seeking approved members (from council and then district level) to serve on this Commission.

As a 23 year member and officer of California LULAC, MY question is "Who is Carlos L'Dera?".  He does not know what he is talking about when it comes to LULAC and he DOES NOT speak for us.  LULAC has ethical standards which are clearly outlined in our LULAC Code and Aims and Purposes of the League. I agree with Paul Martinez, the man should be evicted from the League because his behavior is unacceptable and we cannot justify or validate his membership.

Dear Editor:
Mr. Carlos LDera is a loose canon and the California LULAC membership should not only remove him from office, but impeach him from membership. He has no idea of the sacrifices and efforts made by LULAC members across the country. LULAC's internal conflicts should be discussed discretely not out in public. His methodology is counterproductive to the Latino agenda and he is a coward because he hides behind the computer to attach the an organization he is supposed to support. He should resign or someone should impeach him. Because of his blasphemous rhetoric against our beloved League, he is not worthy of holding any LULAC office much less being a member. Correct me if I am wrong, but it is alleged that he has not paid his dues??? Angel Luevano, California State Director needs to remove him from the post and send out a public notice that he no longer holds any office in LULAC.  If necessary National should take action to compel him to cease and desist from using LULAC's name and materials for his personal agenda.
This is very disappointing that one of our own has lowered himself and compromised our integrity because the majority of the members do not share his views. Quite frankly, I don't understand his views. They are convoluted, contradictory and inconsistent.
I do not want to receive any more emails from this individual. It is negative and counter productive to say the least.

Hello Carlos,
I have rethought the structure for the Education Commission. I believe that we need to include elected leadership to Chair this important post. You may certainly serve on the Commission if you receive Council and District level support for your participation. We will discuss this and other Commissions during our State Board meeting.
Thank You!

Hello Folks,
I have called Mr. L'Dera to inform him that he is not the chair of the Education Commission. At our August Board meeting in Anaheim; the Board ratified my appointment of Susie Flores, Deputy State Director, as chair and Nestor Hernandez, District 18 Director, to co-chair the Education Commission. Also, I called the news paper to inform them that the alleged press release regarding Mayor Villaraigosa was unauthorized. I let Mr. L'Dera know that I was referring the matter to Legal counsel for further action.
Atentamente,
Angel G. Luevano
State Director
